I used it...mixed with mineral oil (which Dr. Simeons approved) the whole time I was on P2....didn't hurt me a bit. Good luck on your journey!

Thank you so much. That was my first post - although I've had so many questions so far. Most questions have been asked so I'm just reading what everyone else has written. I appreciate the quick response and my skin thanks you!

PostSubject: Mineral Oil in lotion   Wed Mar 23 2011, 20:27

I have been using a Suave lotion with mineral oil. I feel that this is o.k. Am I on the right track?

PostSubject: Organic oils are better for your skin   Fri Sep 02 2011, 23:22

There has been many studies on how bad mineral oil/patroleum (its the same thing) effects the skin since Dr.S' day...I am an esthetician so I know a good bit about this subject. Mineral oil is a biproduct of fossil fuel. It sufficates the skin by blocking the pores thus causing blackheads and limiting your skins natural ability to hyrate itself through your water consumption. There are also studies that say it has an effect on hormones.
If your skin is combo/oily then let your natural oils hygrate your skin. If your skin is just uncompfortably dry than use an organic oil sparingly such as coconut or a nut oil. Gycerin based moisturizers are good as well bc they attract water to the skin. You can mix 1 cup of distilled water with 1 tsp- 1 tbsp of pure glycerin with a few drops of esssential oil like lavendar in a spray bottle and mist your face. Shake well before each use.
