PostSubject: Grapefruit   Mon Aug 23 2010, 11:44

I am just curious if there is any truth to grapefruits having fat burning properties. I think we have all heard of the grapefruit diets. Since it is one of our approved fruits, I starting eating strawberries and grapefruit daily in place of my apple. My weight loss this week as I come close to the end of week 3 has been greater than previous weeks.

Has anyone else ate grapefruit regularly as one of their fruit choices and experience a difference? I do add Sweet Leaf Lemon Drops to the surface to avoid that bitterness. It works great.

I ate it for a few days every week and saw greater loses. I would usually eat them for my afternoon fruit. And yes what you hear about it being a fat burning fruit along with oranges is true (something about the acid in it). Being in the military I had to go to nutrition classes and they all tell you the same thing. I use to eat a grapefruit before working out and had great success.

Wondering if you can have 2 of the same fruits in a day, like a 1/2 grapefruit in AM and other half in PM?

I don't know why you couldn't do half early and half later in the same day!

I am in LOVE with grapefruit right now, and often have 1/2 about 20 minutes before lunch, and the other 1/2 before dinner. I think it does help facilitate greater losses.

Thanks Ladies,

It doesn't sound like it wasn't my imagination then. I am going to stock up. Off to buy a grapefruit spoon so I don't keep squirting myself in the eye

I took a chance and bought some at the store yesterday. I was worried they couldn't be as good as the ones I bought in season (Christmas). These are BETTER! I peel and eat them like orange sections so I don't waste any using a spoon.

Janice, I love your latest picture! What a hot mama you are!

Thanks for the tips on grapefruit. I have never eaten one before - but I am going to the store tomorrow and will give it a try.

I peeled and placed half the slices in a oven proof container--sprinkled stevia and cinnamon on it and broiled it---yummm will see what happens tomorrow on the scales.

I've been following the original protocol so I haven't had a grapefruit, but with all of the positive reviews about it I decided to try it. So I bought one at the store yesterday and I'm going to try baking a half of one tomorrow!
