Hello! I noticed that many of you use whey protein. I'm curious as to what brand you use as there are SO many out there.

Thanks!

I have used (and prefer) Jay Robb brand. My second choice is EAS. I'm sure there are some others to add.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! Is there a flavor that you use? I'm on P2 and concerned about the sugar content.

Good morning, Nicole!

Nice to meet you. I have recently discovered the Jay Robb powders thanks to the great gals here on the forum. I've tried chocolate, strawberry, and will be getting into the vanilla (that smells great!) this morning. This powder provides a superior amount of protein in a serving (I've seen only one powder that offers more), and I've been mixing mine with skim milk while on Phase 3.

I am on a clinic-supervised program, and I asked the counselor about the powder. She said it would be just fine to use it when I'm back on Phase 2, as long as I mix it with water, not milk.

Congratulations on your success up to this point!

Keep us up to date on your progress,...

Karen

I use the UltraLean Body Composition Formula shakes by BIOGENESIS, but a lot of people are really liking the flavor of the Jay Robb shakes way to go

You can use whey protein in phase 2?? Do you substitute it for the meat?

Hi, Zoe --

I'm not real clear on how the shake substitutes for meat. You must be sure to get a total of 7 ounces of protein during the day,...the diet is designed to keep you just above protein deficiency. It might be worth trying to have meat for your noontime meal, then substituting a shake for the meat for dinner.

Zoemilla, if you are new to the hcg diet, I highly recommend that you follow whatever diet protocol you are on. Albeit from a clinic, or if you are on your own, stay strict to Dr S protocol for a few weeks.

Quite a few of us have been doing this hcg diet for some time and have made some modifications to the protocol and are still able to loose weight, sometimes even better.

Like Karen mentioned, you must have the 7 oz "meat" protein daily. The shakes are not a good substitute for the bulk protein your body needs on this diet.

I hope this helps.

Zoemilla,

I use the Whole Foods 365 brand if you have Whole Foods in your area. Reasonably priced and made with Stevia so no sugar. To increase protien content, use with Almond milk-but make sure it is unsweet and has no sugars in it. I add cinamon and an additional packet of stevia and love it. It is pretty filling as well.
