PostSubject: Seeking hypoglycemic guidance while on the protocol   Mon Dec 28 2009, 10:43

I am hypoglycemic and I had an 'episode' where I had to have quick bite of sugar.

After that episode, I was fine but it was very scary. I really dislike chocolate so I don't have to worry about eating it routinely however; now I carry two chocolate kisses with me in the event I do need it.

I began altering my diet a bit by adding two egg whites to mornings then continue with the protocol as described. I am not sure if that will solve my issue but we will see.

Does anyone have any advice altering the menu to accomodate hypoglycemia. I am doing well with my weightloss; about two pounds a day even with the addition of the two egg whites.

Thanks for any advice!

Have you tried almonds? Alot of ladies will eat a few almonds as a mini snack on P2 and that has not affected their weight.

A freind of mine has hypoglycemia and she keep a baggie of almonds in her purse for that reason.

You may also want to have an apple or orange with cinnamon. Apples will not brown if you soak them in lemon water or fruit fresh and will keep for a few days. Granted, you cannot keep these in your purse.

Hope this helps. Some one else may have another suggestion.

Birdlady,

Thanks for the information. I have a huge bag left over from baking over Christmas. I will start doing that!

I know they are high in calories so I will ensure I limit my intake.

Thanks!
